Moroccan military delegation visits Mauritania for high-level talks

The high-level military delegation led by General Mohammed Berrid, Inspector General of the Royal Armed Forces (FAR) and Commander of the Southern Zone, concluded a productive visit to Nouakchott on Tuesday. The delegation was received by Mauritanian President Mohamed Ould Cheikh El Ghezouani, with Ambassador Hamid Chabar of Morocco present during the meeting.

During the same day, General Berrid met with Mauritanian Defense Minister Hanana Ould Sidi at the Ministry of Defense headquarters. Following their discussions, the Minister awarded General Berrid the Order of National Merit in the rank of Commander on behalf of the Mauritanian President.

In the afternoon, General Berrid and Mauritania’s Chief of Staff co-chaired the sixth session of the Joint Military Commission. Military leaders from both countries reviewed the progress of their bilateral defense cooperation, highlighting the tangible outcomes of their strategic partnership as a model for regional collaboration.
