Morocco joins gaza stabilization force with royal mandate

Rabat has officially inked the agreement formalizing Morocco’s involvement in the International Stabilization Force (ISF) for Gaza, as directed by the highest royal decrees of His Majesty King Mohammed VI. The monarch, who serves as Supreme Commander and Chief of Staff of the Royal Armed Forces (FAR) and heads the Al-Quds Committee, personally overseeed this strategic decision.

The landmark signing ceremony took place in the capital, presided over by Foreign Minister Nasser Bourita alongside Abdeltif Loudyi, Minister Delegate for National Defense Administration. The gathering brought together top-ranking military officials from Morocco and a high-level delegation led by Nickolay Mladenov, the Council’s special envoy for Gaza.

According to a statement from the National Defense Administration, this agreement embodies Morocco’s foundational role within the Gaza Peace Council. The move aligns with the Kingdom’s unwavering dedication to global peace, cooperation, and solidarity—principles deeply embedded in the nation’s foreign policy framework.

Moroccan authorities emphasized the nation’s proven track record in United Nations peacekeeping operations, highlighting extensive experience in crisis management and conflict resolution. The commitment to regional and international stability was repeatedly underscored as a cornerstone of this initiative.

Representatives from the Gaza Peace Council warmly welcomed Morocco’s participation, noting the Kingdom’s concrete contributions. These include the deployment of senior Royal Armed Forces officers to the ISF’s joint command, the assignment of Royal Gendarmerie and General Directorate for National Security (DGSN) personnel, and the establishment of a fully equipped field hospital.

The signed accord establishes the legal and operational framework governing Morocco’s involvement, reaffirming a shared resolve to restore peace and security in Gaza through targeted humanitarian and security measures.
