Morocco shares anti-corruption strategies with Chad

A significant working session took place on Thursday, July 9, in Rabat, involving Hicham Balaoui, the King’s Prosecutor General at the Court of Cassation and President of the Public Prosecutor’s Office, and Ousmane Abderamane Djougourou, the Inspector General of Chad’s Independent Anti-Corruption Authority. This high-level meeting was part of a visit aimed at gaining insights into Morocco’s established expertise in both preventing and combating corruption.

During the discussions, Hicham Balaoui detailed the core components of the Moroccan anti-corruption framework. He highlighted the robust legal and institutional structures in place, alongside the penal policy spearheaded by the Public Prosecutor’s Office in this critical area. The exchange also delved into comparative best practices adopted globally for effective anti-corruption efforts.

Furthermore, the Chadian delegation was introduced to various proactive initiatives implemented by the Public Prosecutor’s Office. These included a dedicated direct telephone line for citizens to report incidents of corruption and embezzlement, as well as the innovative digital platform named «e-TABLIGH». This advanced online tool empowers individuals to confidentially report alleged acts of corruption, ensuring secure processing of all disclosures through state-of-the-art digital technologies.
