With the 2025-2026 season concluding in a historic UEFA Champions League triumph, Paris Saint-Germain is already setting its sights on the next campaign. The club, fresh off a back-to-back European championship victory, aims to secure a third consecutive title and is actively preparing to strengthen its squad.
Paris Saint-Germain delivered a masterclass in the Champions League final, defeating Arsenal 1-1 (4-3 on penalties) to etch their name in football history. Now, the Parisians are turning their attention to the transfer market, where their first move could be imminent.
Paris Saint-Germain inches closer to signing Aleksey Batrakov
The 20-year-old Russian midfielder, Aleksey Batrakov, has been a primary target for the French giants for weeks. His agent, Dmitry Cheltsov, has now confirmed the impending move, stating in an interview that «it’s high time to announce that, at 95%, Batrakov will join PSG». The deal appears all but finalized, with multiple phone exchanges already completed between the club and Lokomotiv Moscow. Luis Campos, the club’s sporting director, is scheduled to travel to the Russian capital this week to finalize terms.
Under the guidance of the Russian club, Batrakov has been in scintillating form this season, netting 17 goals and providing 13 assists across 36 appearances in all competitions. His dynamic style and attacking prowess align perfectly with PSG’s recruitment strategy, making him an ideal candidate to bolster the squad for the upcoming challenges.
The transfer fee is expected to hover around €25 million, with an additional €5-6 million allocated annually for his salary. Unless an unforeseen circumstance arises, the deal is poised to be one of the first major signings of the summer for the French champions.
