The French Embassy in Morocco hosted a vibrant national day celebration in Rabat on July 14, drawing over 1,500 attendees. Ambassador Philippe Lalliot emphasized the deepening bilateral partnership, highlighting Morocco’s pivotal role in shaping a shared future.
“From Rabat to Casablanca, Tangier, Marrakech, and Laâyoune—where I recently inaugurated the city’s first Alliance Française—our nations don’t just discuss the future; we build it together, step by step,” Lalliot stated, flanked by Mohamed Saad Berrada, Morocco’s Minister of National Education, Preschool, and Sports, representing the government.
Lalliot underscored the robust collaboration between the two nations, referencing President Emmanuel Macron’s 2024 letter to King Mohammed VI, which reaffirmed France’s stance on the Sahara within Morocco’s sovereignty. “French and Moroccan diplomacy are united in championing core principles of the international order and multilateral frameworks,” he noted.
The ambassador also highlighted France’s position as Morocco’s top foreign investor and employer, with French enterprises laying the groundwork for the country’s industrial growth over a decade ago. Looking ahead, he outlined three key priorities: tackling global challenges collectively, strengthening economic sectors of tomorrow, and fostering deeper societal and youth exchanges—cornerstones of the Franco-Moroccan relationship.
Lalliot concluded by celebrating the enduring human bond between the two peoples, further strengthened by the dynamism of their diasporas.
