Tchad welcomes new EU ambassador to strengthen ties

In a formal ceremony held at the Palais Toumaï, the newly appointed European Union ambassador to Chad, Amador Sanchez Rico, presented his credentials to President Mahamat Idriss Déby Itno on May 19. The event underscored the deepening diplomatic engagement between Chad and the EU.

The solemn occasion was attended by Fatimé Aldjineh Garfa, Deputy Minister at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, responsible for African Integration and Chadians abroad. Also present were Sona Jarosova, Head of the Political Section, and Karl Rawert, Head of Cooperation at the EU Delegation in Chad.

This credential presentation marks the official commencement of Ambassador Sanchez Rico’s three-year mission in Chad, signaling a renewed commitment to fostering robust bilateral relations.

The ceremony highlighted not only the strengthening of ties between Chad and the European Union but also the shared intent to enhance mutually beneficial cooperation. Emphasis was placed on achieving measurable outcomes that directly benefit the Chadian people, reinforcing the partnership’s focus on tangible progress and sustainable development.
