Togo prepares for national blood donation drive on june 12 2026

The National Blood Transfusion Center (CNTS) in Lomé is rallying residents of the capital and surrounding areas for a special blood donation campaign ahead of the 22nd World Blood Donor Day, observed on June 14, 2026.

The initiative follows the theme “A drop of humanity. Give blood. Save lives.” and will feature a dedicated donation drive on Friday, June 12, 2026, from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM.

Where to donate in Lomé

Participants can visit one of two designated collection sites:

  • The CNTS headquarters in Tokoin Doumasséssé, directly across from EPP Doumasséssé 1;
  • The Tokoin Collection and Distribution Post (PCD), located within the Sylvanus Olympio University Hospital, behind the hemodialysis department.

Why your donation matters

The CNTS aims to bolster blood reserves to meet urgent needs in local health facilities. A single donation can save multiple lives, making community participation crucial.

“We are all connected through the act of giving,” the center emphasized, urging generous-hearted individuals to step forward and contribute to this lifesaving effort.

The CNTS extends its gratitude in advance to all volunteers for their vital role in supporting patients in need of blood transfusions.
