Un security council demands justice after recent Mali terror attacks

From its headquarters in New York, the United Nations Security Council has issued a robust condemnation of the appalling terrorist assaults perpetrated by jihadist factions linked to Al-Qaeda across Mali since April 25. The Council unequivocally demanded that all those responsible for these heinous acts be brought to justice.

In a statement, the Council underscored the imperative of holding accountable not only the direct perpetrators but also the organizers, financiers, and sponsors behind these violent incidents.

Mali currently finds itself gripped by profound uncertainty following a series of unprecedented assaults on strategic installations belonging to the ruling junta, which seized power in 2020. These coordinated attacks, occurring on April 25 and 26, targeted vital urban centers and tragically led to the death of the nation’s Defense Minister.
