A fierce banner battle erupts between Paris saint-germain and lens supporters

The coronation of Paris Saint-Germain as Ligue 1 champions this Wednesday evening in Lens was marked by an intense exchange of banners at the Bollaert-Delelis stadium. Visiting Parisian supporters seized the opportunity to taunt their Lens counterparts regarding the title race, which was met with an immediate, sharp retort from the northern club’s fervent fanbase, aimed directly at the Collectif Ultras Paris and the Qatari ownership.

Paris Saint-Germain’s championship triumph at Lens on Wednesday night undeniably ignited a fiery banner confrontation between the rival fan groups. In a twist of fate, it was precisely at the iconic Bollaert-Delelis ground that Paris officially secured their 14th French league title, achieving this milestone in front of Lens supporters who had themselves maintained a strong challenge for the championship for much of the season.

Approximately 1,000 Parisian fans, situated in the away section, initiated the verbal sparring with a provocative banner declaring: « Lens champion, fini d’y croire… retournez boire !!!! » (Lens champions, stop believing… go back to drinking!!!!). This jab proved hard for the “Sang et Or” (Blood and Gold) faithful to stomach. They swiftly responded, directly targeting the Collectif Ultras Paris with their own banner: « Frustré de pas avoir d’alcool au Qatar ? CUP bâtard » (Frustrated by not having alcohol in Qatar? CUP bastard).

The response from the Lens supporters…

Earlier during the match, the Lens supporters had already expressed their discontent through various other banners, which were directed at the Ligue de Football Professionnel (LFP) and Paris Saint-Germain president Nasser Al-Khelaïfi.
