Lisette Claudia Tame establishes cutting-edge agro-industry in Badenkop
On Friday, June 26, 2026, a groundbreaking agro-industrial facility was inaugurated in Badenkop, marking a significant milestone for Cameroon’s agricultural transformation agenda.
Cameroon’s Minister of Trade and Agriculture joined the inauguration ceremony on that historic Friday.
Cameroonian entrepreneur Lisette Claudia Tame has launched a state-of-the-art agro-industrial plant named Denky in Badenkop, Bangou district (West Region). This initiative aligns perfectly with Cameroon’s import substitution strategy and the goals of the National Development Strategy 2030 (SND30).
The Denky project, developed by Meta Invest, represents a major leap forward in local agricultural product transformation. The inauguration ceremony was attended by key government officials including Luc Magloire Mbarga Atangana, Minister of Trade, and Gabriel Mbairobe, Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development. Financial backing and technical support for this facility were provided by BGFIBank Cameroun. This marks the third agro-industrial plant launched by Tame in Cameroon within just two years.
According to Lisette Claudia Tame, the facility specializes in processing maize, sugar, plantains, and potatoes. The project aims to generate employment opportunities, reduce rural exodus, enhance the value of domestic agricultural products, and contribute to achieving SND30 objectives. This initiative represents another crucial step in promoting local value addition for national development.
The plant boasts an annual processing capacity of between 5,200 and 6,000 tons of local agricultural products. Spread across a three-hectare site granted by the state, the project is expected to create between 350 and 550 direct jobs, helping to combat rural-urban migration.
