The Chadian government is escalating its battle against human trafficking, with a renewed focus on protecting women and children. Authorities have issued a circular to security and justice officials, emphasizing the urgency of this fight and outlining strict compliance measures.

Human trafficking remains a severe human rights violation, often involving sexual exploitation and forced labor. Chad, a signatory to the United Nations Convention Against Transnational Organized Crime since 2009, has reinforced its legal framework with key legislation such as Ordinance No. 006/PR/2018 and Law No. 12/PR/2018.

Under these measures, officials are mandated to conduct swift investigations, document findings thoroughly, and transfer cases to appropriate courts without delay. Each case must also be reported to the General Secretariat of the Ministry of Justice and the National Commission Against Human Trafficking for rigorous follow-up.

Provincial delegates are tasked with ensuring these directives are strictly enforced. This coordinated effort aims to establish a comprehensive national database, laying the groundwork for a more robust anti-trafficking strategy in Chad.
