Côte d’Ivoire pitches investors on PND 2026 growth plan

The second day of the National Development Plan (PND) 2026-2030 Consultative Group kicked off in Abidjan on July 9, 2026, at the Sofitel Hôtel Ivoire, with Prime Minister Robert Beugré Mambé leading the charge to rally private investors behind the country’s ambitious economic roadmap.

Under the banner of ‘Investment, Enterprise, and Value Creation,’ the Prime Minister underscored the critical role of private capital in driving the plan forward. Over 700 investors from key partner nations gathered to explore opportunities in Côte d’Ivoire’s high-potential sectors, marking a pivotal moment for the nation’s economic transformation.

Why Côte d’Ivoire’s PND 2026-2030 is attracting global interest

Addressing a room packed with business leaders, entrepreneurs, and private-sector delegates, the Prime Minister highlighted the government’s commitment to positioning the private sector as the driving force behind economic growth. He praised the investors’ confidence in Côte d’Ivoire’s resilience, noting its average 6.5% annual growth over recent years—one of the highest in Africa.

« Your presence today reflects the trust you place in our economic vision and growth potential, » he told the assembly. « You are essential partners in building a more competitive and job-creating economy. Our success hinges on your willingness to invest in Côte d’Ivoire’s future. »

The sectors drawing the most investment

The Prime Minister outlined priority areas where investor participation is most critical under the PND 2026-2030. These include:

  • Industrialization and local processing of raw materials to boost value addition;
  • Strategic infrastructure development, with a focus on transport, digital networks, and logistics;
  • Human capital investment, innovation, and essential services to foster a more productive and inclusive economy.

The government’s strategy, he stressed, is designed to unlock Côte d’Ivoire’s full potential as a regional economic hub.

A record turnout for Côte d’Ivoire’s development push

The first day of the Consultative Group, dedicated to institutional partners and the presentation of Côte d’Ivoire’s development strategy, drew over 3,000 participants from 49 countries, including the nation itself. This unprecedented engagement signals strong international confidence in the PND 2026-2030.

Speaking on behalf of the investor community, leaders from Côte d’Ivoire’s Confédération générale des Entreprises de Côte d’Ivoire (CGECI), France’s Mouvement des Entreprises de France (MEDEF), Morocco’s Confédération générale des Entreprises (CGEM), and the International Finance Corporation (IFC) reaffirmed their commitment to the plan. They pledged substantial financial commitments to support its implementation, reinforcing Côte d’Ivoire’s position as a top destination for investment in West Africa.
