The second day of the National Development Plan (PND) 2026-2030 Consultative Group kicked off in Abidjan, bringing together over 700 investors at the Sofitel Hôtel Ivoire under the leadership of Prime Minister Robert Beugré Mambé.
The high-profile gathering served as a platform to rally private investment crucial for driving economic growth and job creation in Côte d’Ivoire. During his address, the Prime Minister highlighted the nation’s robust economic performance, noting an average growth rate of 6.5% over recent years—a testament to its resilience and adaptability.
“This session marks a pivotal step in our collective effort to harness private investment and transform it into tangible value for our economy,” stated Prime Minister Mambé. He underscored the importance of collaboration between the government and the private sector, stating, “Your participation today reflects the confidence you place in Côte d’Ivoire’s economic potential and growth trajectory.”
The Prime Minister emphasized the government’s commitment to positioning the private sector as the driving force behind the country’s economic transformation. Key sectors identified for accelerated investment include:
- Industrialization and local processing of raw materials to enhance value addition
- Strategic infrastructure development in transportation, digital technology, and logistics
- Human capital investment, innovation, and essential services to foster a more productive and inclusive economy
The Prime Minister also pointed to the success of the first day of the Consultative Group, which attracted over 3,000 participants from 49 countries, including Côte d’Ivoire itself. This turnout underscores the global confidence in the nation’s development strategy.
In a show of solidarity, leaders from major business confederations and international financial institutions reaffirmed their support for Côte d’Ivoire’s vision. Ahmed Cissé, President of the General Confederation of Enterprises of Côte d’Ivoire (CGECI), Mehdi Tazi, President of Morocco’s General Confederation of Enterprises (CGEM), and Mohamed Gouled, Vice-President of the International Finance Corporation (IFC), all pledged substantial financial commitments to help realize the goals of the PND 2026-2030.
The Prime Minister concluded by urging investors to seize the opportunities presented by Côte d’Ivoire’s expanding market, where strategic investments will not only drive economic diversification but also solidify the country’s position as a leading economic hub in West Africa.
