Ivory coast prime minister rallies investors for 2026 development plan

The second day of the National Development Plan (PND) Consultative Group for 2026-2030 kicked off in Abidjan on July 9, 2026, at the Sofitel Hôtel Ivoire, under the leadership of Prime Minister Robert Beugré Mambé. The session gathered over 700 investors from allied nations, aiming to unlock private capital critical for the nation’s economic transformation.

Opening the event, the Prime Minister emphasized the gathering’s significance as a platform to drive investment, foster enterprise, and generate sustainable value. “This is a pivotal moment in our journey to consolidate private sector participation in Côte d’Ivoire’s development agenda. The turnout of more than 700 investors reflects the trust placed in our economic vision and growth potential,” he stated.

The event brought together business leaders, investors, and private sector delegates who traveled to Abidjan to engage in high-level discussions. Prime Minister Mambé highlighted the forum as an opportunity to align public and private stakeholders around a shared vision for progress. “Your partnership is instrumental in realizing our goal of building a more competitive and job-creating economy. Success depends on your willingness to invest in sectors that will define our future,” he added.

He underscored the government’s commitment to positioning the private sector as the driving force behind Côte d’Ivoire’s economic metamorphosis. With the country’s GDP growth averaging 6.5% over recent years and a proven track record of resilience, Côte d’Ivoire stands out as one of Africa’s most dynamic economies. “This is a market brimming with opportunities, and today’s discussions will accelerate investments in priority areas outlined in the PND 2026-2030,” he noted.

The Prime Minister outlined key sectors poised for growth, including industrialization and local processing of raw materials to boost added value, infrastructure development in transport, digital technology, and logistics, as well as investments in human capital, innovation, and essential services. These strategic areas are designed to enhance competitiveness and attract further capital.

He also referenced the first day of the Consultative Group, which focused on institutional partners and the presentation of Côte d’Ivoire’s development strategy. That session attracted over 3,000 participants from 49 countries, including local stakeholders, underscoring the global confidence in the nation’s economic trajectory.

In a show of solidarity, leaders from the private sector echoed the Prime Minister’s optimism. Ahmed Cissé, President of the General Confederation of Enterprises of Côte d’Ivoire (CGECI), Mehdi Tazi, President of the General Confederation of Moroccan Enterprises (CGEM), and Mohamed Gouled, Vice President of the International Finance Corporation (IFC), all reaffirmed their backing for the government’s development blueprint. They pledged substantial financial commitments to support the PND 2026-2030, signaling a strong collective resolve to turn vision into reality.
