Maganga moussavou pledges support to oliqui nguema’s reforms

Following the State of the Nation address delivered by Gabonese President Brice Clotaire Oligui Nguema, Pierre-Claver Maganga Moussavou, leader of the Social Democratic Party (PSD), shared his thoughts on the speech. As a former Vice President of Gabon, he underscored the importance of the president’s message, which emphasized decisive action, accountability, and a shift in national mindset.

The head of state’s address resonated with many Gabonese, particularly his call for citizens to take ownership of their future and harness the country’s economic potential. Maganga Moussavou praised the vision outlined, highlighting its relevance to youth empowerment and economic revitalization.

The PSD leader specifically commended the initiatives introduced through the Bank for Trade and Entrepreneurship of Gabon (BCEG), calling them vital tools for fostering private sector growth and financial independence. “I fully align with the president’s vision,” he stated, while urging swift implementation of the announced measures to benefit the population.

Balancing support with constructive criticism

While acknowledging the monumental challenges ahead, Maganga Moussavou recognized the progress since the August 30, 2023 transition as a foundational step toward recovery. He emphasized that overcoming Gabon’s economic, social, and institutional hurdles would require collective effort and shared responsibility.

Describing himself as a clear-sighted opposition figure, he reaffirmed his commitment to supporting policies that serve the national interest. “In his mission to rebuild Gabon, he can count on me,” he declared, expressing readiness to contribute his expertise for the country’s advancement. Beyond political differences, he advocated for responsible cooperation to meet the aspirations of all Gabonese.
