The diplomatic partnership between Morocco and the Philippines spans five decades of evolving collaboration, according to Ambassador Leslie Baja of the Philippines in Rabat. Celebrating the milestone, he emphasized the importance of strengthening this foundation across key sectors to ensure lasting mutual benefits in the years ahead.
Reflecting on the journey, the Ambassador highlighted a history rich in high-level exchanges, strategic agreements, and deep human connections. These elements, he noted, form “the bedrock upon which the next fifty years of cooperation will be built”, signaling confidence in continued growth.
Economically, he pointed to a steady rise in bilateral trade, with commerce between the two nations increasing by nearly 50% in recent years. While acknowledging progress, he acknowledged that trade volumes still fall short of the full potential envisioned by both governments.
