National excellence in OHADA law competition set for Niamey, Niger

A call for legal brilliance from the Abdou Moumouni University’s OHADA Club in Niamey.

The Club OHADA UAM/FSJP, operating within the Université Abdou Moumouni in Niamey, Niger, is proud to announce the upcoming National Excellence in OHADA Law Competition for 2026. This prestigious event is being organized in close collaboration with the Comité International du Concours Génie en Herbe OHADA (CIGHO), aiming to identify and celebrate exceptional legal talent among students in West Africa.

Participation in this rigorous selection process is open to all students currently enrolled in their third year of a bachelor’s degree (Licence 3) or any Master’s program. This includes individuals from both public and private universities across Niger, as well as students from various accounting schools, fostering a broad and diverse pool of candidates.

Prospective participants are invited to submit their applications by June 15, 2026. A key requirement for registration is the formation of teams, each comprising three (3) candidates. Crucially, every team must include at least one female student, promoting gender diversity within the competition.

Who can compete?

  • Students pursuing Law degrees (Licence 3 and Master levels)
  • Students specializing in Economics (Licence 3 and Master levels)
  • Cadets from the Justice Section of the École Nationale d’Administration (Licence 3 and Master levels)

The competition structure:

The competition is divided into two main phases designed to thoroughly assess participants’ knowledge and skills in OHADA law and related fields.

1. Written examinations:

  • A comprehensive Multiple Choice Questionnaire (MCQ)
  • Questions focused on African integration topics
  • The engaging “Who am I?” challenge
  • Dynamic relay questions

2. Oral examination:

  • A simulated courtroom pleading exercise, testing advocacy and legal argumentation

Important dates:
