On Friday, authorities took Ndiaga Seck into custody on suspicion of engaging in acts deemed against nature. This development follows his prior mention in a separate judicial inquiry involving another individual.

The situation quickly escalated into a political firestorm after journalist Madiambal Diagne reportedly implied a connection between the arrested politician and his alleged close ties to Prime Minister Ousmane Sonko. This West Africa insider news has drawn significant attention.

However, Deputy Cheikh Bara Ndiaye vehemently challenged this interpretation, condemning what he views as a deliberate political amalgamation. He asserted that certain narratives are designed to damage the reputation of key figures.

The parliamentarian further commended Prime Minister Ousmane Sonko’s handling of the matter, describing his approach as exemplary. Ndiaye stated that Sonko has insisted on allowing the judicial process to proceed unimpeded by any external influence.

Currently held in police custody, Ndiaga Seck is scheduled to appear before the investigating judge in Linguère this Monday, where further legal proceedings are expected to unfold.
