Ousmane Sonko threatens no-confidence motion against Al Aminou Lo’s government

Motion de censure : Ousmane Sonko prêt à faire tomber le gouvernement d’Al Aminou Lo

During a recent gathering in Touba, Ousmane Sonko issued a clear warning, stating his intention to initiate a no-confidence motion against the current government. The prominent leader of PASTEF emphatically declared that his political party would not hesitate to employ this parliamentary mechanism to challenge what he views as unacceptable governance practices.

At a meeting held yesterday in Touba, as part of PASTEF’s 48-hour event, Ousmane Sonko reiterated his firm stance, threatening a no-confidence motion against the administration led by Prime Minister Al Aminou Lo. The influential PASTEF leader made it clear that his party is prepared to activate this parliamentary procedure if the government’s current policy directions persist.

“We will deploy every legal avenue at our disposal, including the no-confidence motion, to bring down the government, and we will do so as many times as required,” Ousmane Sonko asserted to his party’s supporters. The president of PASTEF justified this resolute position by stating that his political movement could not tolerate practices that contradict the fundamental principles for which its members have tirelessly struggled.

“We have fought for a decade, enduring sacrifices and the loss of martyrs. We will not permit such practices to become entrenched,” he affirmed. With this powerful declaration, Ousmane Sonko effectively positioned the no-confidence motion as a central component of PASTEF’s political strategy against the government. He considers this parliamentary recourse a legitimate method to challenge decisions he deems unacceptable, emphasizing PASTEF’s readiness to invoke it whenever circumstances demand.
