Just weeks ago, the narrative suggested Chevalier would remain at Paris after discussions with manager Luis Enrique. However, the goalkeeper’s status has since become fluid, with clubs like Juventus reportedly monitoring his situation. Internal club sources noted his initial reluctance to leave, stating, “He told us before the World Cup he wanted to stay, and we were happy to hear it. We’ll see if circumstances change—anything can happen in a transfer window.”
PSG makes first move for Suzuki with €33M offer
While Chevalier’s fate remains unresolved, the PSG hierarchy has acted swiftly on the Suzuki dossier. According to recent reports, the club has submitted a €33 million bid to Parma, positioning themselves as the frontrunners for the Japanese international. The proposal was reportedly accompanied by a presentation of the club’s project, which—like all moves—hinges on the resolution of Chevalier’s situation.
Juventus falls behind in the race
For PSG, this development is a positive step, particularly as they previously faced competition from Juventus for Suzuki’s signature. The Italian club’s manager Luciano Spalletti acknowledged the player’s potential but cited financial constraints and logistical challenges, stating, “We like Suzuki—he’s a goalkeeper with immense potential, but he’s currently out of reach financially. There are also other complications we must consider, including budget management.”
