Chad and Burkina Faso join forces to combat terrorism in the Sahel
A high-level delegation from Chad’s Ministry of Public Security and Immigration, led by Police Commissioner Mahamat Ibrahim Man Man, concluded a crucial meeting in Ouagadougou this week. The purpose? To lay the groundwork for enhanced bilateral security cooperation between Chad and Burkina Faso.
During the discussions, both nations emphasized the urgent need to address the growing terrorism threat that has destabilized the Sahel region. According to a statement from Chad’s security ministry, the meeting served as a preparatory step ahead of a joint ministerial commission aimed at deepening collaboration in counter-terrorism efforts.

Mbaï-Naïssem Isaac Chamir, Legal Advisor to Chad’s Minister of Public Security and part of the delegation, highlighted the significance of the talks. “This meeting marks the beginning of a structured approach to tackle a common enemy—the spread of terrorism.” He underscored the importance of leveraging their shared experiences and historical ties to develop a security framework tailored to regional realities.
