In a grand ceremony held in Paris this June 27, Brayan Yebga Miyogog, a former student of the African Institute of Computer Science (IAI-Cameroon) and the Paul Biya Center of Technological Excellence, was awarded the ‘African Student Excellence Prize’ (PEEA) by the association of the same name. The prestigious recognition honors his remarkable resilience, unwavering academic excellence, and ethical leadership that has made a tangible impact from Africa to the global stage.

This international distinction underscores the exceptional quality of training provided at IAI-Cameroon, currently led by Resident Representative Armand Claude Abanda, who also holds the #UNESCO Chair for Central Africa in ICT Access. The award ceremony brought together leading figures from science, culture, and diplomacy, all witnessing the crowning of an outstanding achievement.

Miyogog secured the Silver Prize, which celebrates the resilience, commitment, and academic brilliance of students from both the African diaspora and the continent. In his acceptance speech, the young laureate emphasized the critical role of the skills he acquired at the Paul Biya Center of Technological Excellence in shaping his success. ‘On the big day, I will proudly wear the colors of IAI-Cameroon. In my speech and discussions, I will highlight where I come from and the quality of education I received here. It is an honor to represent this institution before such an esteemed audience,’ he declared.

The recognition is particularly significant as it reflects the relentless efforts of IAI-Cameroon’s top management to produce highly skilled graduates equipped for the job market. Just weeks prior to this accolade, Miyogog’s AgriGuardian platform, which he co-founded, was awarded the ‘Public Prize for TechforTech’ at the Petit Poucet 2026 competition.

Currently based in Montpellier, France, Miyogog serves as a junior systems and networks trainer and cybersecurity architect. His expertise spans advanced computing, digital security, and artificial intelligence, positioning him as a rising star in the tech world.
