Morocco’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation, and Moroccans Abroad, Nasser Bourita, welcomed Sering Modou Njie, Gambia’s Minister of Foreign Affairs and Special Envoy of President Adama Barrow, in Rabat on Thursday.
The Gambian diplomat carried a written message addressed to King Mohammed VI, marking a new chapter in the diplomatic engagement between the two nations.
Strengthening historic bonds
Following the closed-door discussions, Njie praised the exemplary relations between Morocco and Gambia, describing them as rooted in deep friendship, mutual solidarity, and robust cooperation.
He highlighted how the partnership between Rabat and Banjul has flourished over time, driven by shared interests and a mutual commitment to deepening economic, political, and social ties.
Future-focused collaboration
The Gambian Foreign Minister reaffirmed his country’s eagerness to expand collaboration across key sectors, including trade, security, education, and renewable energy. These areas have been identified as critical to fostering sustainable development and prosperity in both nations.
